38 Special was founded in 1975 by vocalist Donnie Van Zant in Jacksonville, Florida. 38 Special is one of the great representatives of the Southern rock bands, they musical style can also be described as arena rock and hard rock. Even though, 38 Special still continue to play and to release popular albums their best-know hits include 1981's Wild-Eyed Southern Boys and 1982'a Special Forces.
